![]() ![]() Additional adapters are available upon request for an additional $5 weekly fee (billed separately). Only) and one of the adapters listed below. Both can be updated online when new engines are added to the list.$75 fee is for ONE (1) WEEK RENTAL and includes first class shipping to the renter (Continental U.S. They both will command a few tests like the very handy Power Balance test.Īs long as you can protect your laptop, Diacom is way better but both are very good. TechMate Pro handheld is a bit more convenient/safer in a bouncing boat underway, and reads/displays all the same data but on only 1 engine & only a few lines at a time ( Diacom displays all parameters of 1 or 2 engines at 1 time or any selected 1 or groups of parameters, and can dynamically graph and even record. I think the very good Diacom would likely be your best overall value with great features, but perhaps someone else has a better suggestion? But I had also purchased a hard copy along with the Crusader Owners & Parts Manuals when I bought the new repower engines in 2003. The manual for my MEFI-4 ignitions was included on the Marine Diacom software CD so I could just download it to a file on my laptop. And an appropriate ignition diagnostic manual. Not sure if they still use VODIA but I believe it was only available to VP authorized personnel, not owners.įWIW- I can't imagine owning a computer-controlled marine injected engine w/o having an appropriate diagnostic scan device. In the past at least, Volvo Penta has used some version of their proprietary VODIA device /software for their engines. There are also much more expensive scan systems I'm not familiar with, including Advanced Diagnstics' S.T.A.T.S. Their SW offerings only cover 1 type of ignitions system you choose. ![]() ![]() There is at least 1 less expensive marine diagnostic software by OBD Diagnostics but they may not be able to scan CAN systems, so be sure to carefully check on that if you look at theirs. Here's a list on engines and years Rindas cover: All brand marine diagnostic scan systems require an appropriate adapter. Unfortunately, the CAN adapter is the most expensive one at $249. They can scan a vast array of marine engines and ignition types including your 2010 VP EGC "CAN", as long as you purchase the correct diagnostic connector adapter. No expert with these at all, but I have Rinda Technologies Marine Diacom SW on my laptop ( as well as the older TechMate and newer TechMate Pro handheld marine scan devices) as that is what Crusader said is all they use at the factory and highly recommended them for owners. ![]()
